Alexander Wladimirowitsch Bumagin ( Russian Александр Владимирович Бумагин ; born March 1, 1987 in Tolyatti , Russian SFSR ) is a Russian ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Frederikshavn White Hawks in the Danish Metal Ligaen since December 2018 . His older brother Yevgeny is also active as a professional ice hockey player.
Career
Alexander Bumagin began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the youth division of HK Lada Tolyatti , for whose professional team he made his debut in the Russian Super League in the 2004/05 season . In his rookie year , he scored two goals in seven games and was runner-up with his team. In the following year he won the IIHF Continental Cup at European level with Lada . Then the left-shooter was selected in the NHL Entry Draft 2006 in the sixth round as a total of 170 players by the Edmonton Oilers , for whom he never played. Instead, he signed with Chimik Moskovskaya Oblast in the summer of 2007 , which changed its name to Atlant Mytishchi a year later when the Continental Hockey League was founded . In his first KHL season, the former junior international scored six goals in 46 games in the 2008/09 season and prepared another eight. For the 2009/10 season he was obliged by Atlants league rivals Neftechimik Nizhnekamsk , before moving to Metallurg Novokuznetsk in October 2010 . He then completed 129 KHL games for Metallurg before being handed over to HK Awangard Omsk in January 2013 .
From May 2013 Bumagin was under contract with Severstal Tscherepowez before he was exchanged for Eduard Gimatow by Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg in May 2014 . For Awtomobilist he achieved 12 points scorer in 43 KHL games before he returned to his hometown club Lada in May 2015, which meanwhile took part in the KHL again.
Between May 2017 and December 2018, Bumagin played for Severstal Tscherepowez before joining the Frederikshavn White Hawks in the Danish Metal Ligaen .
International
For Russia , Bumagin took part in the U18 World Junior Championship in 2005 and the U20 World Junior Championship in 2007 .
