Anisodus carniolicoides a plant is art from the genus Anisodus within the family of the nightshade family (Solanaceae). The species is common in the People's Republic of China .

description

Anisodus carniolicoides is a perennial plant that forms a yellow rhizome as a perennial organ. The stem axis stands upright and is sometimes pale purple in color. The leaves have 1.2 to 3 (rarely up to 5) cm long petioles . The leaf blade is elliptical to ovate and is 6 to 18 (rarely up to 21) cm long and 3 to 7.5 (rarely up to 12) cm wide. It is paper-like and hairless, wedge-shaped at the base or slightly descending on the petiole, pointed or acuminate towards the front. The leaf margin is whole, curved or serrated irregularly.

The flowering time of the species extends from May to July. The flowers are on strong, 1.5 to 4 cm long peduncles . The chalice is bell-shaped, about 2.3 cm long and 1.5 to 2.5 cm wide. It is slightly lobed, but is split irregularly once or twice by the enlarging crown . The crown is pale yellow-green in color and is about 4.5 cm long. On the outside, the corolla lobes are striped purple, the tips are inconspicuously short, spiky. The anthers are 6 to 7 mm long, the flower base is yellow in color.

When the fruit ripens in September to October, the flower stalks enlarge to a length of about 4 cm, the calyx becomes about 3 cm long and leathery. The fruit is a capsule fruit about 3 cm in size .

The chromosome number is 2n = 48, the karyotype is described as 20m (3SAT) + 4sm.

Occurrence

The species grows on grassy slopes, in thickets at the edges of forests and in rocky crevices. The locations are at altitudes between 3000 and 4500 m in the southeast of Qinghai , in Sichuan and in the northwest of Yunnan .

The bitter-tasting and poisonous rhizomes are used as a remedy for injuries, bleeding wounds and pain caused by rheumatism or arthritis .
