The nightshade-like (Solanales) are an order of the flowering plants (Magnoliopsida). Five families are classified here; the most important families are the nightshade family (Solanaceae) and the bindweed family (Convolvulaceae).

There are both woody and herbaceous plants . The leaves are mostly alternate. The flowers are usually radial symmetry , zygomorphism is the exception in a few taxa. The sepals are also still present on the ripe fruits.
Alkaloids are found in many taxa , including tropane alkaloids .
