Yoon Kyung-won (born January 1, 1982 in Seoul ) is a former South Korean ice hockey player and current coach who played most of his career in the Asia League ice hockey with Anyang Halla .
Career
Yoon Kyung-won began his career as a hockey player on the Korea University team in his hometown of Seoul . In 2004 he moved to Anyang Halla in the trinational Asia League Ice Hockey , where he played until 2014, with the exception of the years 2009 to 2011, when he was paused because of his military service.
Since 2015, Yoon has been the assistant coach of the Kyung Gi High School team, which plays in the South Korean High School League.
International
For South Korea, Yoon Kyung-won already took part in the U18 World Junior Championships in 1999 and 2000 . He played with his team in what was then the "Asia Division I", which was located below the B World Cup.
The defender made his debut in the senior national team of the Asian country at the Division II tournament of the 2001 World Cup in Majadahonda , Spain , when he was promoted to Division I thanks to a 3-2 win in the final game against the hosts . In Division I, he represented his country in the title fights in 2002 , 2004 , 2008 and 2013 . After relegation in 2002 from Division i, he was involved in 2003 in his native Seoul in winning the title in Division II and the associated immediate promotion. At the Winter Asian Games 2007 in Changchun , China , he and his team won the bronze medal behind Japan and Kazakhstan . He also represented his colors in qualifying for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi .
