Shō Satō ( Japanese 佐藤 翔 , Satō Shō ; born September 5, 1983 in Kushiro , Hokkaidō ) is a Japanese ice hockey player who has been playing for the Ōji Eagles in the Asia League Ice Hockey since 2009 .

Career

Sho Sato first played for the Komazawa University team and then for Komazawa Tomakomai in the Japan Ice Hockey League . In 2002 he moved to the Seibu Bears Tokyo, which later became the Kokudo Ice Hockey Team and in 2006 the Seibu Prince Rabbits . With Kokudo he became Japanese champion in 2004 . Since 2003 he has played in the Asia League ice hockey , which he won in 2005 and 2006. In 2009 he moved to league rivals Ōji Eagles , with whom he was able to win the Asia League again in 2012.

International

For Japan, Sato took part in the junior division of the U18 B World Cup in 2000 and the U20 World Championships in Division II in 2001 and 2002 and Division I in 2003 .

In the senior sector, he was in his country's squad at the World Championships in Division I in 2005 , 2008 , 2009 , 2010 , 2012 , 2015 and 2017 . At the Winter Asian Games 2007 in Changchun , China , he won the gold medal with Japan with a 3-2 win in the decisive game against Kazakhstan .
