The Hockey competition of II. Asian Winter Games took place from 9 to 14 March 1990 at the Japanese Sapporo instead. In addition to the host nation Japan, three other countries - the People's Republic of China , South Korea and North Korea - took part in the competition. The gold medal went to the People's Republic of China, which won the tournament without defeat in just one draw against North Korea.
