Toshiyuki Sakai ( Japanese 坂 井 寿 如 , Sakai Toshiyuki ; born September 3, 1964 in Tomakomai , Hokkaidō ) is a former Japanese ice hockey player .

Career

Toshiyuki Sakai spent his entire career as a hockey player with the Kokudo Ice Hockey Team , for which he was active in the Japan Ice Hockey League from 1988 to 2003 . With his team he won the Japanese championship title nine times (1989, 1992, 1993, 1995, 1998, 1999, 2001, 2002, 2003). He then ended his career at the age of 38.

International

For Japan , Sakai took part in the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano . In addition, he was in his country's squad at the C-World Cup in 1987 , the B-World Cup in 1989 , 1990 , 1991 , 1992 and 1993, and at the A-World Cup in 2002 .
