Isidor Markowitsch Annenski

Isidor Markovich Annenski ( Russian Исидор Маркович Анненский , scientific. Transliteration Isidor Markovič Annenskii ; born February 28 . Jul / 13. March  1906 greg. In Olwiopol ; † 2. May 1977 in Moscow ) was a Soviet director . The most famous work is The Wedding ; his films count as literary adaptations.

Life

After graduating from the Odessa Theater School , Annensky worked as an actor and director in theaters in Arkhangelsk , Rostov , Baku and in the Moscow Theater of Revolution .

After graduating from the GITIS ( Russian Academy for Theater Arts ) directing faculty , in 1934 and immediately afterwards from the WGIK film academy with Sergei Mikhailovich Eisenstein , he independently produced his first movie "Medwed" (The Bear). This diploma thesis already made him known nationwide.

In future works Annensky turns several times to film adaptations of Anton Pawlowitsch Chekhov's works and each of these works, such as “The Man in the Suitcase”, “The Wedding”, “Anna am Neck”, became a national success.

His grandson, Andrej Annenski, has lived in Germany since 1995. He studied feature film directing at the same university as his grandfather - the Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography in Moscow. His professor was Vadim Abdrashitov.
