Missile silo
During the Cold War there was a military base near the city , which was camouflaged as a weather station when it was active, with up to ten RT-23 nuclear missiles. The silos were shut down for disarmament in the 1990s and the base was opened to tourists. In addition to numerous rockets (including an RT-23 and an RS-20 ), the former underground launchers and rocket transport vehicles are exhibited there. The command center was about 30 meters below the ground. The center of the 43 atomic missile army was in Zhytomyr , Pervomajsk was a branch. Former military personnel, all with five years of special training, guide you through the facility.
