Arbusynka ( Ukrainian Арбузинка ; Russian Арбузинка Arbusinka ) is an urban-type settlement in Ukraine in the north of Mykolaiv Oblast with about 6300 inhabitants (2019). Arbusynka is the administrative center of the raion of the same name .

geography

Arbusynka is located 131 km northwest of the Oblast center Mykolaiv on the Arbusynka river which flows over the Mertvovod ( Мертвовод ) into the Southern Bug . The nearest town is Yuzhnoukrajinsk 19 km southwest of the village.

The nearest train station is 4 km away in the village Kawuny ( Кавуни ) on the railway of Odessa Railways of Kolosiwka ( Колосівка ) in Rajon Veselynove after Pomichna .

In addition to Arbusynka, the settlement council also includes the villages Vysneve ( Вишневе ) with about 50 inhabitants and Polyanka ( Полянка ) with about 390 inhabitants.

history

The village was founded around 1780. The village was occupied by Wehrmacht troops on August 5, 1941 , and liberated by Red Army troops on March 21, 1944 . Since 1967 Arbusynka has had urban-type settlement status.

Rajon

Arbusynka is the administrative seat of the Rajons of the same name. The Arbusynka district has 20,700 inhabitants and an area of ​​969 km². The population density is 22 inhabitants per km². In the north, the Rajon borders on the Kirovohrad Oblast .
