Wradijiwka ( Ukrainian Врадіївка ; Russian Врадиевка Wradijewka ) is an urban-type settlement and administrative seat of the raion of the same name in Ukraine in the northwest of Mykolaiv Oblast with about 8,400 inhabitants (2014).
geography
Vradiyivka is located 190 km northwest of the Mykolaiv Oblast center on the Ukrainian trunk road M 13 . In addition, the Bakschala , a right tributary of the Southern Bug, 48 kilometers in length, has its source near Vradiyivka . The village has a train station on the Borschtschi – Kharkiv railway line .
history
The village was founded around 1791 under the name Welyka Wradijiwka ( Велика Врадіївка ) and carried the name until 1964. From August 6, 1941 to March 29, 1944, the village was occupied by the Wehrmacht . Since 1967, Vradiyivka has had urban-type settlement status.
In the summer of 2013, police violence in the village led to massive unrest and almost to the storming of the local police station as well as demonstrations in many parts of Ukraine.

Vradiyivka is the administrative center of the raion of the same name. The Rajon Wradijiwka km² about 18,000 inhabitants and an area of 811th The population density is 23 inhabitants per km². In the west and south the Rajon borders on the Odessa Oblast .
