Beresanka is located 57 km southwest of the Oblast center Mykolaiv on the Sassyk River (Ukrainian Сасик ), which flows over the Berezan Liman into the Black Sea . The community is located on the M 14 trunk road , which runs along the Black Sea coast from Odessa via Berdjansk and Mariupol to Russia .

history

The settlement was founded as a Protestant daughter colony of the Beresan colony by German immigrants with the name Alexanderfeld in 1866.

From 1914 the German name was banned and Suworowe ( Суворове , until 1923) and Tylyhulo-Beresanka ( Тилигуло-Березанка , until 1964) were official place names. Since July 1966, Berezanka has had urban-type settlement status.
