The Pesenbach Castle is located in the same district of the municipality Feldkirchen an der Donau in District Urfahr environment of Upper Austria (Pesenbach 1).

history

The name Bosenbac is mentioned for the first time in 1108 . Today's castle was an aristocratic patio back then. The old Bavarian aristocratic family Starzhausen was the owner of the manor house of Mühllacken Castle from 1678 to 1701 and built the seat of Pesenbach in 1679. An estimate of the value of Pesenbach in the course of inheritance proceedings from 1764 speaks of "the aristocratic Freysitz and Mayrhof Pesenbach (the Pesenbach building, the Mayrhof)".

The Linz patrician family Peisser received the title “von und zu Werttenau” in 1674 and took over Mühldorf Castle from 1686 to 1705 and the associated estates of Mühllacken Castle and Pesenbach Castle in 1705 ; On March 3, 1747, this rulership complex passed into the possession of Wilhering Abbey through judicial sequestration , where it remained until 1857. The Starhemberg family owned Bergheim Castle and the Pesenbach outdoor area in the 19th century . Baron Victor von Pereira-Arnstein acquired the Pesenbach outdoor area from them in 1867. The estate and village of Pesenbach were also owned by the Barons von Pereira-Arnstein in 1896. In 1899 the owners belonged to the curia of the large landowners according to the scheme of the land and large estates of Upper Austria. On October 7, 1898, Baron Alfons von Pereira-Arnstein sold the property complex to Count Franz zu Eltz and Countess Anna zu Eltz. Almeida Schoenmaker came into possession in 1921 and sold it on October 2, 1924 to Curt and Monika Taxis from Bordogna and Valnigra, the great-grandparents of the current owner, Roland Taxis-Stieber, who became the owner of the castle in 2000 when he was handed over by his father.

Pesenbach Castle today

The palace building is a one-story building on the street. Former farm buildings are connected to this and form an inner courtyard with the castle building. Most of the castle is used privately. In part of the main wing there is a film and photo studio as well as a design office.
