Evergestis dilutalis is a butterfly from the family of Crambiden ( Crambidae ).

features

The moths reach a wingspan of about 30 millimeters. The head and body are pale ocher. The front wings have a whitish basic color. The Costa loaders , the root field and the cross lines are pale ocher in color. Between the wavy, serrated, whitish post-median line and the subterminal line, there is a fairly wide, oblique band that extends into the apical area. Inside the cell are two indistinct, pale spots. The fringed scales are white. The hind wings are dirty white and shiny. They are drawn with an evenly curved, darker post-median line. There is a narrow dark line in the edge area that borders the white fringed scales. The underside of the forewing is gloomy. The drawing and the dark discal spot are very indistinct. The underside of the hind wings is dirty white. The fringed scales of the wings are white, on the forewings they are darkened at the apex .

The genital fittings of the males have not yet been described.

In females, the corpus bursae is almost spherical and detached from the base of the ductus bursae . The signum is egg-shaped and almost as long as the corpus bursae. The ductus bursae is tortuous and dilates in front of the colliculum . The antrum is very narrow, funnel-shaped and wrinkled.

Similar species

In terms of appearance, E. dilutalis resembles Evergestis sophialis and Evergestis frumentalis , but the first-named species is markedly paler in color.

distribution

Evergestis dilutalis is common in Romania and the Ukraine ( Crimea ).

biology

The pre-imaginal stages (egg, caterpillar, pupa) are unknown. The moths fly from late June to July.
