The Costa loader ("C") as the leading edge of the wing

The Costalader or Costa for short (Latin costa : rib) is a longitudinal vein in the wing veins of the insects . It represents the leading edge of the wing and at the same time the foremost and eponymous vein of the costal field , the largest wing field of the insects. The subcostal artery is located below the costal artery ; both can be connected by a cross artery. At the base of the animal's thorax, the Costa loader is connected to the humeral sclerite in all insects .
