Pomitschna ( Ukrainian Помічна ; Russian Помошная Pomoschnaja ) is a city in the center of Ukraine with about 9,000 inhabitants (2015).
The city is a railway junction at the intersection of the Bachmatsch – Odessa railway of the Piwdenno-Sachidna Salisnyzja and the Borschtschi – Kharkiv railway of the Piwdenna Salisnyzja .
geography
The city is located on the banks of the Chornyj Taschlyk ( Чорний Ташлик ), a 135 km long tributary of the Synjucha in the south of the Kirovohrad Oblast around 70 km southwest of the Kropywnyzkyj Oblast center . The city is located 24 km southeast of the district center Dobrowelytschkiwka and 13 km southwest of Nowoukrajinka .
The M 13 / E 584 trunk road runs south of the city and runs from Kirowohrad to Okny .
history
Pomitschna was founded in 1775. On August 1, 1868, rail operations began in the village. The settlement was liberated on March 18, 1944 by the troops of the Red Army from the occupation by the Wehrmacht . On May 14, 1967, Pomichna received city status.
