Ustynivka

Ustyniwka ( Ukrainian Устинівка ; Russian Устиновка Ustinowka ) is an urban-type in the south of the Ukrainian oblast Kirowohrad with about 3400 inhabitants (2020).

The settlement is on the bank of the Berezivka (Ukrainian Березівка ), a 74 km long left tributary of the Inhul , 85 km southeast of Kropywnyzkyj .

history

The village was founded in the 1740s by immigrants from the Poltava region . It was occupied by Wehrmacht troops from August 6, 1941 to March 13, 1944 . Since 1968 Ustynivka has had urban-type settlement status.

Ustyniwka is the administrative seat of the raion of the same name. The Ustyniwka Rajon (Ukrainian Устинівський район ) has 13,656 inhabitants (2011) and an area of ​​942 km². The population density is 15 inhabitants per km².
