The castle Pfalzgrafenweiler is an Outbound castle at 630 m above sea level. NN on the southern edge of Pfalzgrafenweiler in the Freudenstadt district ( Baden-Württemberg ).
The castle was first built in 1165 when it was destroyed by Count Palatine Welf VI. in the course of Tubingen promo (1164-1166) against Palatine Welf VII. and Palatine Hugo I. mentioned. The castle was soon rebuilt and was given to the bishop of Strasbourg as a fief by Count Palatine Rudolf .
After the castle and the place were sold to the Counts of Eberstein in the middle of the 13th century and from them the village Pfalzgrafenweiler with Besenfeld and half the hamlet forest to Württemberg in 1421, the castle was demolished.
