Loßburg Castle

The Castle Lossburg , also lots castle and earlier lots Burch called, is a Outbound Wasserburg on the so-called "lock hump" in the upper part of the municipality Loßburg in the district of Freudenstadt in Baden-Wuerttemberg .

The dendrochronological investigation of an oak bar of the castle, the foundation of the Counts of Sulz and hohengeroldseck back, puts the construction between 1252 and 1273. The Geroldsecker attracted a moat from Kinzig origin to their new castle and they accordingly built their family seat Burglahr to Wasserburg out.

At the end of the 13th century, a Vogt von Loßburg, son of Volmar von Neuneck , was named.

The castle was first built as a hilltop castle in the upper part of the village on an embankment ("Schlossbuckel") over a pile grid , had a circular wall and a round keep .
