Blahowischenske (Ukrainian Благовіщенське ; Russian Благовещенское / Blagoweschenskoje ) is a city in the western part of the Kirowohrad Oblast in Ukraine on both sides of the Synjucha River .
The place arose as early as the 19th century as a settlement around the sugar factory founded in 1840 in the northeastern village of Hruschka . In 1899 the settlement with the station Hruschka in today's narrow-gauge network Hajworon got its own railway connection with a works track to the sugar factory, in 1921 the place was called Blahowischenske . In 1924 the settlement was renamed in honor of Lenin (real name Wladimir Ilyich Uljanow ) in Ulyanovka (Ukrainian and Russian Ульяновка ) and in 1928 the center of the Danylowa Balka district (Данилова Балка). In 1938 the place was given the status of an urban-type settlement . Despite the renaming, the raion was renamed on September 1, 1946 not in Ulyanovka Raion , but in Hruschka Raion and was until February 12, 1954 in the Odessa Oblast . Ulyanovka experienced strong growth from the 1950s due to rural exodus. In 1974 it received city status, but since 1990 the number of inhabitants has been falling again. On May 19, 2016, the place was renamed back to its old name Blahowishshenske in the course of the decommunization of Ukraine .
The M 05 , which opened as a motorway in 2004, runs east of the town .
