Onufriivka ( Ukrainian Онуфріївка ; Russian Онуфриевка Onufrijewka ) is an urban-type settlement in the north of the Ukrainian Oblast of Kirovohrad with 4,000 inhabitants (2016).
geography
Onufriivka is the administrative center of the Rajon of the same name and is located 128 km northeast of the Kropywnyzkyj oblast center , 47 km northeast of the city of Oleksandrija , 26 km south of Kremenchuk and 14 km south of the Dneprufer near Kamjani Potoky .
history
The settlement was founded in the early 17th century by a Zaporozhian Cossack named Onufrijenkom (Ukrainian Онуфрієнком ), whose name the village received. In 1752 the area of what is now the Rajons became part of Slavic Serbia . In 1968 Onufriivka received urban-type settlement status.

Onufriivka is the administrative seat of Onufriivka Rajon, founded in 1923 . This has an area of 889 km² and 21,500 inhabitants and borders in the north on the Poltava Oblast and in the west on the Dnepropetrovsk Oblast . The population density is 25 inhabitants per km².
