Kompaniyivka ( Ukrainian Компаніївка ; Russian Компанеевка Kompanejewka ) is an urban-type settlement in the center of Kirovohrad Oblast in Ukraine . The village with 4500 inhabitants (2015) is the administrative center of the Rajons of the same name .

geography

Kompaniyivka is located on the Suhoklija (Ukrainian Сугоклія ), a right tributary of the Inhul , 31 km south of Kropywnyzkyj . In addition to Kompaniivka, the settlement council also includes the villages of Hromadske (Ukrainian Громадське ) with about 30 residents, Schywaniwka (Ukrainian Живанівка ) with about 540 residents, and Luschok (Ukrainian Лужок ) with about 70 residents.

history

The settlement was founded in the second half of the 18th century. In 1933 the place became the center of a newly formed raion within the Odessa Oblast, which at that time was still a larger area . In 1965 the village became the center of the newly established Kompaniyivka Raion and received urban-type settlement status.
