Lars Hedén

Lars Allan Hedén (born September 4, 1934 ) is a Swedish former football player and coach.

Career

Hedén grew up in Vänersborg and was active in various sports. He performed for Vänersborgs BTK as a table tennis player , for KFUM Trollhättan as a handball player and for Vänersborgs IF as a bandy and soccer player. In the mid-1950s he was noticed by those responsible for the AIK soccer team during a preparatory game, so that he changed clubs in the summer of 1955. In the Allsvenskan , however, he did not make his debut until the summer of the following year, in the season 1956/57 he played alongside Kurt Liander , Jörgen Ekengren , Leif Skiöld , Göran Åslin and Björn Anlert nine first division games and scored two goals. Parallel to his football career, he studied at the Royal Technical University in Stockholm.

In the summer of 1957 Hedén returned to his hometown club Vänersborgs IF . In 1960 he moved to Borås , where he found a job at Gatukontoret . Accordingly, he changed the club and in early 1960 joined the second division Norrby IF , for which he ran up until 1968. Between 1964 and 1967 he played with the club in third class until they were promoted again. After a flying visit to Vänersborgs IF in 1969, he returned to the meanwhile Norrby IF as a player-coach, with whom he was relegated from the second division in 1970. In 1972 he ended his active career and, in parallel to his work at Gatukontoret, worked as a full-time trainer for various clubs in the following years.

First, Hedén 1973 took over the first division club IF Elfsborg , who had risen from the second division. Under one direction, the team occupied by players like Leif Målberg , Bengt Andersen , Thomas Ahlström , Leif Gustavsson and Christer Hellqvist places in the middle of the table. In 1976 he returned to the then second division Norrby IF, after two seasons he moved on to the Gothenburg club GAIS within the southern season of the second division . In 1980 he took over Grimsås IF , and in 1982 he returned to IF Elfsborg. Here he was responsible for the team line-up until 1984, at the same time he worked temporarily as a supervisor for the B national team of Svenska Fotbollförbundet .
