Career

Liander started playing soccer at Lunda SK . In 1948 he went to Rosendals IF for a season before moving to AIK in 1949 . In 1951 he was with the youth team Swedish champions and came to his first use in the first team in a cup game against Åtvidabergs FF . Coach George Raynor also used him in league games occasionally with the then second division side . After the promotion to the Allsvenskan was at the end of the season , he was able to celebrate his debut in the first division on August 8, 1952 at the home game against Djurgårdens IF in Råsundastadion . However, it was not until 1954 before he could establish himself in the team. After Kurt Hamrin's move to Italy, the break-in took place at AIK. After the commitment of Lennart Backman and Bengt Karlsson at the end of the 1957/58 season , Liander wanted to end his first division career and switch to the reserve team. In the season of 1959 , however, he was reactivated again as a supplementary player and came on April 22, 1959 to his 96th and last first division game for the club from Solna.

Liander let his career end in a lower class. His first stop was in 1960 the fourth-class club Råsunda IS , with whom he won the relay in Division 4 Stockholm Norra and thus made it to the third division. Nevertheless, he left the club to join the second division IFK Stockholm . With the club he played in midfield of the league, 1966 succeeded behind Hammarby IF the runner-up. In 1967 he took over the club as a player-coach. after two years in the relegation battle, he moved to BK Vargarna as a player- coach . In 1970 he was promoted to the third division with the fourth division team. After the 1971 season he ended his active career and worked as a coach at the club for another year.

In 1975, he returned as assistant coach of Keith Spurgeon back to AIK. In the course of the season he took over the coaching post together with Jim Nildén . In 1976 he became a trainer at Täby IS , where he worked until 1978. This was followed by tasks at Spårvägens GoIF , the youth and reserve teams of AIK and another flying visit to Täby IS.

Until his retirement in 1996 he was a full-time sports teacher.
