Björn Anlert

Björn Anlert (born May 9, 1934 in Södermalm ; † September 1, 2018 ) was a Swedish national football player .

Career

Anlert played for AIK Solna from 1947 . Initially still active in the club's youth teams, he made his debut on August 22, 1954 for the club in the 1-1 draw at Helsingborgs IF in the Allsvenskan . After 96 first division games in which he scored three goals, he moved to IFK Stockholm in 1961 . After two years in the second division, he returned to AIK for the 1963 season. By 1966 he ran for the club in the first division and played 55 other first division games and scored three more goals. From 1967 he let his career as a player- coach at the fifth division Ekerö IK end, with whom he rose in 1971 to the fourth division. In 1973 he hung his soccer boots on the hook.

Anlert came on October 27, 1963 for his only appearance in the Swedish national team . In front of 25,109 spectators at the Nya Ullevi in Gothenburg, as part of the qualification for the 1964 Olympic Games, the Hungarian national team was drawn 2-2 .

Others

Anlert's twin brother Bengt also played for AIK in the Allsvenskan between 1954 and 1961. In 1955 he also played an international match for Sweden. The two brothers died within a few weeks in 2018: after Björn succumbed to cancer in September , Bengt also died of cancer on October 9.
