Bengt Anlert

Bengt Anlert (born May 9, 1934 in Södermalm ; † October 9, 2018 ) was a Swedish national football player and coach.

Athletic career

Player career

Anlert played for AIK Solna from 1947 . Initially still active in the club's youth teams, he made his debut on April 11, 1954 for the club in the 4-1 away win at IFK Göteborg in the Allsvenskan . By 1961 he ran in 141 first division games for the club and was able to score seven goals. From 1962 he played for IFK Eskilstuna . For the club he was used 17 times in the Allsvenskan and was able to score a goal. In 1965 he moved to local rivals IK City within Eskilstuna . He stayed there for two seasons and joined BK Sport in 1968 . There he ended his active career in 1971.

Anlert came on August 28, 1955 for his only appearance in the Swedish national team . In front of 18,463 spectators, the Finnish national selection was defeated 3-0 in Helsingborg by goals from Nils-Åke Sandell , who scored two goals, and Lennart Lindskog in Helsingborg .

Coaching career

Parallel to his playing activities at BK Sport , he took over coaching activities at the club from 1968. First he worked as a youth coach, then later as a first team coach. 1977 to 1982 he then sat in the coaching bench at his former club IK City. In 1980 he rose with the club in the third division, but had to accept the direct relegation.

Others

Anlert's twin brother Björn also played for AIK in the Allsvenskan between 1954 and 1966. In 1963 he also played an international match for Sweden. The two brothers died within a few weeks in 2018: after Björn succumbed to cancer in September , Bengt also died of cancer on October 9.
