Advieh ( Persian ادویه, also adwiya , "spices", from Arabic   adwiya , "remedies, medicines", Arabic singular dawāʾ ) is a mixture of herbs in Persian cuisine . The ingredients of the mixture vary depending on the region in Iran .

However, common ingredients include dried rose petals , cinnamon , cardamom , cumin . Can still turmeric , clove , ginger , angelica , saffron , nutmeg , black pepper , coriander and sesame seeds are added. The spice is used in the preparation of various rice dishes , meat sauces (Khoreshs) and meat dishes.

Similar seasonings in India are called masala .
