Denys Walentynowytsch Kostjuk (also Denys Kostyuk , Denis Kostyuk ; Ukrainian Денис Валентинович Костюк ; born March 13, 1982 in Pervomajsk ) is a Ukrainian cyclist .

Career

After Kostjuk won the one-day race Gran Premio Palio del Recioto and two stages of the Giro delle Regioni in 2003 and finished the U23 world rankings as the best, he joined the Belgian cycling team Chocolade Jacques in 2004 . For this team he took part in the Giro d'Italia 2004 and finished his first Grand Tour in 60th place overall. In 2006 he was able to win one stage of the Bałtyk-Karkonosze Tour and the Tour of Qinghai Lake , a race of the hors categorie . In 2011 and 2012 Kostjuk drove for the Italian UCI ProTeam Lampre-ISD . During this time he contested two other Grand Tours : the Tour de France 2011 he finished 153rd and the Vuelta a España 2012 as 56th overall. In 2013 he became Ukrainian road racing champion.

Kostjuk is married to the triple jumper Olha Saladucha .
