Calder Cup playoffs
mode
The six best teams in the American Hockey League qualified for the play-offs. In the first play-off round, the two division winners met the third of the other division and the second division played against each other. Then the three teams qualified for the second play-off round should compete against each other twice, but the Voyageurs de Montréal lost all three games, so a fourth game was no longer necessary. The other two teams then met in the final. The first play-off round and the final took place in best-of-seven mode.
