The 1943/44 season was the eighth regular season of the American Hockey League (AHL). During the regular season, the six teams of the league should play 54 games each, but the last two games of the Providence Reds and Pittsburgh Hornets were omitted because they could no longer reach the playoffs at this time. The four best teams in the AHL then played in a play-off round for the Calder Cup .
