Steve Brulé (born January 15, 1975 in Montréal , Québec ) is a retired Canadian ice hockey player . From 2004 to 2011 he worked in Europe and was most recently under contract with the Marquis de Saguenay and Marquis de Jonquière from the Ligue Nord-Américaine de Hockey .
Career
Steve Brulé began his career as a hockey player with the Saint-Jean Lynx , for which he was active from 1992 to 1995 in the Canadian junior league QMJHL . During this period he was selected in the 1993 NHL Entry Draft in the sixth round as a total of 143 players by the New Jersey Devils . With their farm team from the American Hockey League , the Albany River Rats , the attacker won the Calder Cup in the 1994/95 season . He also played for the River Rats in the following five years, where he was appointed to their NHL squad for the playoffs of the 1999/2000 season by the New Jersey Devils. His only use in those playoffs of the National Hockey League helped him win the Stanley Cup .
Following the Stanley Cup win with New Jersey, Brulé played for a year in the International Hockey League for the Manitoba Moose and three years in the American Hockey League for the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks and Hershey Bears . During his time at Hershey, he also came on two regular season appearances for the Colorado Avalanche from the NHL. In the summer of 2004, the Canadian signed a contract with the Krefeld Penguins from the German Ice Hockey League . In the following season he joined their league rivals Füchse Duisburg and Kassel Huskies , where he missed relegation with the Huskies. Instead of going to the 2nd Bundesliga with the team , the right-handed player switched to EC Graz 99ers in the Austrian ice hockey league . He then stood on the ice for one year each for the EHC Chur and the EHC Visp in the Swiss National League B. In the summer of 2009 he moved within the Visp league to HC Thurgau . From January 2011 Steve Brulé was back under contract with the EHC Visp, where the striker ended the 2010/11 season and with this the Canadians won the championship of the second highest Swiss league. In the league qualification, however, he failed with the Valais against HC Ambrì-Piotta . Subsequently, Brulé received a contract with the Marquis de Saguenay from the Ligue Nord-Américaine de Hockey .
