Joshua "Josh" Leivo (born May 26, 1993 in Innisfil , Ontario ) is a Canadian ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Vancouver Canucks of the National Hockey League since December 2018 and plays there on the position of the left winger .

Career

Leivo played during his junior years first from summer 2010 for the Sudbury Wolves in the Ontario Hockey League , before he was transferred to league rivals Kitchener Rangers in January 2013 . During the time in Sudbury he was selected in the third round of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft in 86th place by the Toronto Maple Leafs from the National Hockey League .

The Maple Leafs finally signed their draft pick in March 2013, after making his professional debut for the Toronto Marlies farm team in the American Hockey League in spring 2012 . In the professional field, the Maple Leafs have been using the left winger since then mainly for the Marlies in the AHL. He made his NHL debut in the course of the 2013/14 season , where he came from now on sporadically.

After more than five years in the organization of the Leafs, Leivo was handed over to the Vancouver Canucks in December 2018 , which in return sent Michael Carcone to Toronto.
