Cedar Rapids is a city and county seat of Linn County in the US -amerikanischen State Iowa . According to the 2010 census, the second largest city in the state had 126,326 inhabitants, the number of which had increased to around 131,000 by 2016 (2016 estimate, US Census Bureau ).

The Interstate Highway 380 crosses the city in north-south direction. The freeway expanded US Highway 30 runs in a west-east direction through the south of the urban area of Cedar Rapids. All other roads are subordinate country roads, some unpaved roads and inner-city connecting roads.
Four freight railways, Union Pacific Railroad (UP), Cedar Rapids and Iowa City Railway (Crandic), Canadian National Railway and Iowa Northern , serve the city on schedule. Crandic and the Iowa Interstate Railroad have their corporate offices in Cedar Rapids.
Cedar Rapids Airport, which is served by some of the larger American airlines, is located 15 km south of the city center with Eastern Iowa Airport .
Economy and work
Cedar Rapids is promoted by two companies both in jobs and economically. One is the cereal manufacturer Quaker Oats (part of PepsiCo ), the other is Rockwell Collins , a company that designs and produces radio and communications equipment for Boeing and NASA , among others .
