Riley Smith

Riley Bryant Smith (born April 12, 1978 in Cedar Rapids , Iowa ) is an American actor , singer and model .

Life

Riley Smith grew up on his family's horse ranch in Iowa. He started riding at an early age and won the American Quarter Horse World Youth Championship at the age of 16 . In 1996 and 1997 he was President of the American Quarter Horse Youth Association , the largest breeding horse youth association with more than 25,000 members.

Smith was discovered by a talent scout at a mall in his hometown. He sent him to a meeting of the International Modeling and Talent Association (IMTA) in New York . Smith then became a model for a Tommy Hilfiger campaign and signed with his current agent, Abby Bluestone. Smith turned down a basketball scholarship and stayed in New York. There he was soon decorating magazine covers and billboards. He used the money he earned to take acting classes. After three months of classes and his huge success as a model, Smith flew to Los Angeles to audition for the 1998 pilot Minor Threat . He got the role, but the pilot never aired. Smith's acting career was kicked off by it.

In 2005, Smith received a Character and Morality in Entertainment Award along with the entire team at They Call Him Radio .
