action

James Robert Kennedy, 20, is a mentally retarded African American whom everyone in Anderson, South Carolina calls radio because he can always be found on his radio. Like many disabled people, he is shunned, mocked by his classmates at TL Hanna High School , and often beaten.

There's only one person on the radio, football coach Jones. He sees talent in radio that others would not recognize. With the aim of bringing radio into the team, Jones takes on any resident of Anderson who see the team and its successes at risk from a disabled person.

But over time, radio becomes part of the team. With his open manner, he causes conservatives and those who are opposed to the issue of disability to rethink. He even manages to significantly influence the final game of his team through his nature, so that the team can win.
