action

A group of outlaws rapes Aman's girlfriend, who then hunts and kills her. When he dies himself, his mother, a nun, sacrifices her life to God in order to save the life of her son. As a condition, all those killed by Aman are brought back to life as undead, who then pursue him forever in revenge. The only way to break this cycle is to cut off the head of the undead. When he is faced with a large group of the undead, he recruits the young gunslinger Fabulos to fight side by side.

While Aman explains off-screen that the damned stay between heaven and hell only because of the prayers of an order of sisters, the camera pans through a desert. In this desert, Aman brings a dead man to a slaughterhouse where the woman who raised him lives. Once there, he cuts off the dead man's head.

An undead named "Slipknot" waits on rails that criss-cross a wasteland for three more undead, who are brought shortly afterwards on a trolley. After a short dialogue, Aman appears and kills the three newcomers. From the horses available, however, he realizes that not all of the people he expected actually came.

A small group of prisoners is waiting for a transport at a train station. While the pastor is having a conversation with the marshal, one of the deputies tries to get close to a woman. Angel is a dancer and can use a trick to keep the man away from her. When a carriage comes and everyone starts to get in, the sheriffs are shot at by Aman, who is standing on a nearby hill. He saves Fabulos, who owes him his help through this rescue.

The transport of prisoners is brought to a large execution, where several delinquents are already waiting at a gallows. Kansa, the leader of the undead, and his friend Kisscut kill the seller in a nearby shop and peel off his skin so that Kansa can put it on himself. Meanwhile, the marshal gives a speech to the convicts. When Kansa is done, he leaves the shop and shoots all the sheriffs and the marshall. He climbs onto the execution stage and has the arrested fishing rod brought up. Then he said to those present that he died with his companions, but had come back for unknown reasons and is now looking for a wife for his son, who has also died. However, his son has not yet returned. He then carries out the execution of all delinquents.

Aman brings Fabulos to an underground tunnel where the undead live. There he practices his accuracy and shooting skills. He comes out of the tunnel intact and receives money as a reward. Aman promises him even more if he continues to accompany him and fight the undead. Then he tells him his life story: his mother, a whore and thief, was once rescued from the gallows by the San Diablo sisterhood, but Aman had to give her to an orphanage. He later grew up with the widow, who owns a slaughterhouse, and her daughter Sueno. He later fell in love with Sueno and they had the prospect of a happy future. One day when Aman was gone, a group of outlaws came and raped Sueno. She then became pregnant and died giving birth to the child. Obsessed with revenge, Aman looked for the perpetrators and found them in a small prison in the desert. There he shot one by one. However, not the son of the leader, as he had previously hanged himself.

The widow works with a little girl in the slaughterhouse. This leads a cow into a guillotine, which is located in the cellar of the house, whereupon the widow loosens the guillotine and the cow is killed and eviscerated. When Aman returns, he reports that he is expecting the undead to attack. Fabulos is playing outside with the girl. You bet who can handle the slingshot best. The girl wins in the end.

After the execution, the dead are skinned. Angel is still alive and tied up. They take the priest prisoner and find a map of the "skull mountain" with him. Slipknot arrives and shows Kansa the head that Aman had cut off. Kansa orders the undead "Skullbucket" to kill Aman. He and other undead make their way to the slaughterhouse. Most of them are shot by Aman and Fabulos. Fabulos is seriously injured in a duel with Skullbucket, who wears blades on a helmet. While Aman is fighting with Skullbucket, they both fall into the basement. Aman lures him towards the guillotine and drops the guillotine. However, only the helmet is destroyed and Skullbucket survived. He pursues Aman, however, shortly afterwards, he is fatally struck in the back of the head by a stone thrown by the girl. Then Aman meets the injured Fabulos. He shoots him to save him further suffering and because he knows he will return undead. Shortly afterwards, Fabulos stands in front of him again. Aman explains to him why all of those he killed return.

Kansa, Mosca, Kisscut and the tied Angel set off to the Skull Mountain, where the entrance to the realm of the dead lies, to fetch Kansas son. Kisscut waits while Kansa and Mosca enter. Shortly afterwards, Aman stands in front of her. They duel and Kisscut dies. Aman notices that a dead man has been hung from the exit on the summit. Aman shoots Mosca, who had Angel with him, and the woman escapes. Kansa is now facing Aman, in the ensuing duel Kansa shoots the pistol out of his hand. Kansa wants to know why his son hasn't returned yet. Fabulos appears so Aman can arm himself again and duel. He shoots Kansa in the head, who then falls on his knees, but is still alive. In front of his eyes, Aman shoots the dead man who hangs at the entrance to the Empire of the Dead and who is the son of Kansas. Aman says he took his own life. Then he cuts off Kansa's head and walks away.

production

The fabric first received general attention in 2005 as The Wretched , the original title, with Chow Yun-Fat starring as the zombie bounty hunter Rellik along with Paz Vega and Catalina Sandino Moreno . Production was scheduled for June 2005 in New Mexico , but was never shot. The script vanished again until the involvement of Wesley Snipes brought him renewed attention.

The shooting in Namibia coincided with Snipe's tax problems. The donor, Gary Smith, made sure that it could be shot. Smith stated, “We're glad he continues to appear on set every day. The fact that his indictment is getting this attention in the press shows that he is a star. "

The film was released in Germany as a direct-to-DVD production on August 27, 2013.

synchronization

The synchronization was produced at Think Global Media in Berlin based on a dialogue book by Peggy Sander and the dialogue direction by Thomas Wolf.

reception

The film-dienst described the film as an "abstruse genre mix in which the chronically arrogant actor Wesley Snipes plays a kind of undead who is stylishly but mindlessly staged". The film magazine Cinema saw "breathtakingly pointed Italo-Western pictures in which the abundant flowing blood is celebrated as a gaudy color contrast". The only criticism was that the film did not make it to the cinema. The film website video.de drew the comparison to films such as Django , El Topo and Spiel mir das Lied von Tod and described the film as “stylish deluxe trash westerners cast in a sun-gleaming scene”.
