Wendy Joan Williams Hunter (born July 18, 1964 in Asbury Park ) is an American TV presenter, actress, author, fashion designer and former radio personality. Since 2008 she has hosted the television talk show The Wendy Williams Show .

Williams was a radio DJ and presenter prior to her television career and was known in New York as the "Shock Jockette". Known for her on-air arguments with celebrities, she was the subject of the 2006 VH1 reality television series The Wendy Williams Experience , which aired events related to her radio show. She was inducted into the National Radio Hall of Fame in 2009 .

She has an autobiography that appeared on the New York Times bestseller lists and has written six other books and created product lines, including a clothing line, a jewelry line, and a wig line. On her 50th birthday, Asbury Park City Council renamed the street she grew up on the Wendy Williams Way.

She is one of the most successful talk show presenters, her net worth is estimated at US $ 60 million. She has been married to producer Kevin Hunter since 1997, with whom she has a son. In April 2019, it was announced that Williams had filed for divorce.
