Yogi Bear (Original title: Yogi Bear ) is an American feature film by the director and effects artist Eric Brevig . The film is based on the first published in 1958 Cartoon -Figur Yogi Bear the Hanna-Barbera - Studios . The two brown bears Yogi and Boo Boo live in Jellystone Park . You have a soft spot for picnic - baskets , which they usually steal the park visitors. When Yogi and Boo Boo notice that Jellystone is being cut down, they visit Ranger Smith in town and report to him. Back in the park with Smith, they notice Rachel. She filmed a turtle with a camera that Boo Boo has to carry, which turns out to be Boo Boo's pet. This turtle is the last of its kind and therefore endangered, which is why its natural habitat must not be destroyed.
