William Hanna
William "Bill" Denby Hanna (born July 14, 1910 in Melrose , New Mexico , † March 22, 2001 in North Hollywood , California ) was an American animated film maker and producer.
Life
William Denby Hanna first studied journalism and mechanical engineering . From 1931 he worked as a draftsman for MGM . In collaboration with Joseph Barbera , he created the very successful episodes about Tom and Jerry . After MGM no longer wanted to produce cartoons, the two cartoonists founded their own studio Hanna-Barbera . In the following years they produced numerous successful series for television : The Feuerstein family , The Jetsons , Scooby-Doo , Hucky and his friends , Yogi Bear ,The crazy Holidays , The Smurfs , the Hanna-Barbera New Cartoon Series (consisting of Wally Gator, Touché Turtle & Dum Dum, Lippy the Lion & Hardy Har Har) and the Atom Ant / Secret Squirrel Show , a compilation of various cartoon series (Atom Ant, Secret Squirrel, Squiddly Diddly, Precious Pupp, The Hillbilly Bears and Winsome Witch).
