Morgan Fairchild (* 3. February 1950 in Dallas , Texas as Patsy Anne McClenny ) is an American actress .

biography

At the age of 17, Morgan Fairchild got her first job in film as the light double for Faye Dunaway in the gangster drama Bonnie and Clyde . Six years later she got her first acting role in the soap opera Search for Tomorrow , to whose ensemble she would belong for four years.

In the years that followed, television remained her preferred profession. Fairchild starred in numerous series such as Mork vom Ork , Einsatz in Manhattan and Hotel . In the 1978 family saga Dallas , she played the part of Jenna Wade for an episode , which Priscilla Presley later took over.

Her artistic breakthrough brought her the role as glamorous Constance Weldon Carlyle in the prime time soap opera Flamingo Road , for which she a. a. received a Golden Globe nomination. For the film Tele-Terror (The Seduction) from 1982 Fairchild received a nomination for the Golden Raspberry for worst actress.

Although the next series in which Fairchild played a leading role, Carousel of the Dolls , was discontinued after only a few months due to poor success, she remained a popular television actress and received guest roles in various soap operas ( Falcon Crest ) and television series such as Torches in the Storm , General Hospital , Love Boat , Simon & Simon, and Roseanne . She was nominated for an Emmy for her appearance on the Murphy Brown series . She played herself in the comedy The Guru at Eddie Murphy's Side and in The Slammin 'Salmon in 2009. In 1987 she took over the role of Queen in Cannon Movie Tales: Sleeping Beauty , but the film was only released on VHS, but very much successfully.

In addition, Morgan Fairchild works extensively as a stage actress. She has appeared in various off-Broadway productions since the early 1980s .
