action
Son-Goten, Trunks and Videl are looking for the Dragon Balls to call the dragon Shenlong. In search of the last Dragon Ball, they come to the village of Natade and save it from a monster. As a thank you they can stay there overnight.
That same night, a meteorite strikes nearby. When Videl is investigating the spot the next morning, she meets Broly, the legendary Super Saiyan, who immediately attacks her. Videl loses consciousness in the fight, and Goths and Trunks help her. During the fight, Broly notices the resemblance of Goten to Goku, whom he knows as the Saiyan Kakarott . Son-Goten also finds the Dragon Ball he is looking for. Finally, Gohan comes to the aid of his brother and his friends and fights Broly, who eventually turns into a Super Saiyan. However, Gohan himself cannot oppose the legendary as a two-time Super Saiyan. Despite Broly's superiority, Gohan manages to lure him into a lava flow, from which he himself is rescued by Krillin. But even Broly survives the lava with the help of an energy shield and the fight continues. Broly now wants to destroy the earth. Gohan tries to fend off this with a Kamehame-Ha and is supported by Goths. But only with the help of the suddenly appearing Son Goku can his sons finally repel the attack and shoot Broly into the sun.
Videl comes to and asks Gohan about the events. While he is running away from her, Son-Goten and Trunks are on their way back to the village.
In the closing words, the narrator asks whether Son-Goku's appearance was just an imagination, he came back briefly from the afterlife, or whether the Dragon Balls had something to do with it. The answer is left open.
