Sachs Franken Classic

The Sachs Franken Classic , formerly ZF Sachs Franken Classic is an international classic car - Rally in and around Bad Kissingen near Schweinfurt , with about 160 each year participating vehicles and drivers from Germany, Austria, Holland, Belgium, Spain and Switzerland. It is named after Fichtel Sachs AG in Schweinfurt, which is now part of ZF Friedrichshafen AG , with the Sachs brand .

history

As the successor in 1977 to 1992 in the framework of the German Rally Championship conducted Sachs Rally Franken organize the two motorsport clubs AC  Karlstadt and MSC  Zellingen since July 2000, the new ZF Sachs Franken Classic in Bad Kissingen. Since 2004 the rally has taken place at Whitsun. In 2009 the classic car rally took  place for the tenth time as part of the ADAC FIVA Historic Cup and the Euro Classic Rallye Cup (ECRC).

Approved are vehicles ( automobiles ) which, at the time of the technical acceptance, comply with the regulations of the road traffic licensing regulations and are at least 30 years old. The participating classic cars are divided into two classes, vehicles built up to 1946 (pre-war class) and vehicles from 1947.

Routes and tests

On two days of tours through the Franconian wine country , the Rhön , the Spessart , the Steigerwald and the Haßberge , the participants cover about 550 kilometers with their vehicles . Around 20 exams (including city tours and mountain exams) must be completed on these tours. The event always ends with the Concours d'Elegance , in which the most beautiful vehicle is chosen.

Ratings

The rally will be held as a historical scoring drive with the two scoring types classic and sport . In both ratings, a further distinction is made between participants who drive with electronics and participants who drive with simple clocks ( hourglass class ) .
