Igor Jačmenjak (born August 31, 1979 in Zagreb , SFR Yugoslavia ) is a Croatian ice and inline hockey player who has been under contract with the KHL Zagreb since 2016 .

Career

Clubs

Igor Jačmenjak began his career as an ice hockey player in the 1995/96 season at KHL Zagreb , with which he immediately won the Croatian championship . In the summer of 1997 he moved to his city neighbor KHL Mladost Zagreb , for whom he played for four years before spending another three years at his ex-club KHL Zagreb. From 2004 to 2010 the defender was again under contract with KHL Mladost Zagreb, with whom he became Croatian champion for the second time in his career in 2008. In the 2005/06 and 2008/09 seasons he was also active for Mladost Zagreb in the Slovenian ice hockey league and in the 2009/10 season in the newly founded Slohokej league .

For the 2010/11 season Jačmenjak joined his hometown club KHL Zagreb again, for which he scored four goals and eight assists in eleven games in the Croatian league. In the playoffs he also ran for the Zagreb team , a cooperation of the Zagreb top clubs, in the Slohokej League and prepared two goals in six games. In January 2012 he joined the Kocaeli Büyükşehir Belediyesi Kağıt SK from the Turkish Super League , with whom he became Turkish runner-up. In the summer of 2012, however, he returned to his home club KHL Zagreb , for which he initially played in the Croatian league again. In the 2015/16 season he played with his club in the Slovenian league , but moved to the Serbian league shortly before the playoffs for KHK Red Star Belgrade and became Serbian runners-up with the capital club.

In December 2018 he was loaned to the KHL Medveščak Zagreb from the Erste Bank Eishockey Liga , but returned to the KHL Zagreb after the main round.

International

For Croatia , Jačmenjak took part in the junior division at the U18 Junior C European Championship in 1996 and the U20 Junior C World Championships in 1997 and 1999 .

In the senior sector, Jačmenjak was initially part of his country's squad at the 1997 D World Championships and the 1998 , 1999 and 2000 C World Championships . After changing the league system at the World Cup, he took part in Division I tournaments in 2001 , 2003 , 2006 , 2008 , 2009 , 2014 , 2015 and 2016 and Division II in 2004 , 2005 , 2007 and 2013 . He was also on the ice for his colors in qualifying for the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin .

Inline hockey

In addition to his ice hockey career, Jačmenjak also plays inline hockey . With the Croatian national team , he took part in the 2013 World Cup in Dresden in the second-class Division I and came in fifth. He was the third best scorer of the tournament behind the Briton Philip Hamer and the Austrian Johannes Bischofberger .
