Elsa Pataky (* 18th July 1976 in Madrid as Elsa Lafuente Medianu ) is a Spanish actress , film producer and singer .

life and career

Elsa Pataky was born in Madrid as the daughter of a Spanish pharmacist and a Romanian-Hungarian publicist . She discovered her passion for acting in her youth, but still studied journalism at the Universidad de San Pablo. In addition to her studies, she took acting lessons and played in various classical and modern pieces under the direction of Ángel Gutiérrez . In 1997 Pataky made her debut in front of a camera with a role in the Spanish television series Al Salir de Clase , which she - like many other young actors - made her famous. She took part in over 200 episodes of the successful series, and subsequently appeared in other series such as Tío Willy and The Queen of Swords .

In 1999 Pataky made her feature film debut with a small role in Jo Sol's Tatawo , followed by Álvaro Fernández Armero's film The Art Of Dying with Fele Martínez and Gustavo Salmerón , which became a commercially successful film in Spain. Further film and television productions followed, partly also international co-productions.

Pataky played her first major international role in 2011 in the fifth part of the Fast and Furious series as Elena , a police officer from Rio de Janeiro . She also took on this role in Fast & Furious 6 , Fast & Furious 7 and Fast & Furious 8 .

Pataky has been married to fellow actor Chris Hemsworth since December 2010 . In May 2012, both became parents of a daughter. On March 18, 2014, the couple had twins and two sons.
