Fele Martínez was born in 1975 as Rafael Martínez in Alicante . He studied acting at the Escuela Superior de Arte Dramático in Madrid and began to gain a foothold in the theater as an actor and director at an early age. Martínez started the theater group Sex-peare with friends and fellow students . He made his cinema debut in 1996 under the direction of Alejandro Amenábars . In Amenábar's first feature film Tesis - The Snuff Film , Martínez plays the cynical Chema who, together with the film student Angela (played by Ana Torrent ), tracks down a snuff film ring . The charismatic actor, who was honored as Shooting Star of the Year by the European Film Promotion in 2000 along with other young European actors, also acted as a film producer for Sonia Sebastián's twelve-minute short film Ladridos in 2002 , and in the same year as director of the film El castigo del ángel . His theatrical work includes the leading role in the comedy Play It Agian, in which he could be seen for six months in the role that Woody Allen had in the Broadway production of the play.
