Fele Martínez was born in 1975 as Rafael Martínez in Alicante . He studied acting at the Escuela Superior de Arte Dramático in Madrid and began to gain a foothold in the theater as an actor and director at an early age. Martínez started the theater group Sex-peare with friends and fellow students . He made his cinema debut in 1996 under the direction of Alejandro Amenábars . In Amenábar's first feature film Tesis - The Snuff Film , Martínez plays the cynical Chema who, together with the film student Angela (played by Ana Torrent ), tracks down a snuff film ring .
