Boyle ( Irish : Mainistir na Búille , Latin: Buellium ) is an Irish city ​​in the north of County Roscommon . It is located at the foot of the Curlew Mountains near Lough Key , Lough Arrow and Lough Gara at an altitude of 83 m.

The population is 2522 (2006), of which 1599 live in the city proper and 923 in the surrounding area. Boyle is connected to the rail network and the N4 national road from Dublin to Sligo . The ruins of Boyle Abbey are known . Three kilometers west of Boyle is the Portal Tomb of Drumanone .
