The producers' association eV is the oldest and largest association of independent cinema producers in Germany, with headquarters in Munich and offices in Berlin . The managing director of the registered association is Erwin M. Schmidt . The primary task of the association is to integrate German and European producers into an international network and to improve the working conditions of the independent producers with regard to cooperation with broadcasters and the financial conditions of the independent producers.

history

The producers' association was founded in 1966 as the Association of German Feature Film Producers . Since then, he has established almost all of the major institutions for German film producers: the Filmförderungsanstalt (FFA), the umbrella organization of the film industry (SPIO), the collecting society for rights to use films (VGF) or german films and the Friedrich Wilhelm Murnau Foundation .
