reception

Age rating

In Germany, the film was released from the age of 12, but is allowed from the age of 6 if accompanied by parents. The reason for the release states that the film has a gloomy atmosphere and is staged in a surreal, artificially poetic style. Drug use and prostitution are discussed, but not glorified, and there are occasional short, shocking moments of disgust that are immediately resolved, so on in the explanation. Even a scene in which " Russian Roulette " is played does not develop any irritating or frightening effect due to the grotesque staging and the negative attitude of the main character.

Reviews

Ulrich Sonnenschein from epd Film writes that Berlin has seldom been alienated in such a neon-colorful way, and that even a S-Bahn passing in the background looks like a special effect. This is how camerawoman Jieun Yi O Beautiful Night is a visual experience. The music that director Xaver Böhm composed together with Paul Eisenach is also helpful for the magical atmosphere, the artistic literary ambience and the Danse Macabre of the trio of Eros, Death and Eternal Life. Unfortunately, the story stands a bit in its own way, says Sonnenschein: "Because of the sheer image design, Böhm loses the plot, the dialogues fluctuate between magical sentences that are reminiscent of Derek Jarman and the banal" don't-do-not-stand " -Sentences that do not make a whole. "
