Maurizio Millenotti

Maurizio Millenotti (born June 12, 1946 in Reggiolo , Reggio nell'Emilia ) is an Italian costume designer . He was nominated twice for an Oscar .

Life

Maurizio Millenotti started his career in Italy in the 1970s. His first work was as an assistant costume designer for Die Halunken (1973) and La Tosca (1973). In 1980 he was an assistant at Fellini's City of Women .

He had his first independent work in 1980 with the miniseries Bambole: scene di un delitto perfetto , the feature film Bello mio bellezza mia and Fellini's Ship of Dreams (1983).

He received two Oscar nominations , both for Shakespeare adaptations by Franco Zeffirelli . At the Academy Awards in 1987 he was nominated for Otello together with Anna Anni . Jenny Beavan and John Bright won the award for Rooms with a View . In 1990 he was nominated for Hamlet at the 1991 Academy Awards. There won franca squarciapino with Cyrano de Bergerac .

In 2000 he was nominated for a Primetime Emmy for his work on The Passion of the Christ .

In Italy he received the David di Donatello twice , the most important film award in Italy. The first time in 1999 for The Legend of the Ocean Pianist and the second time in 2014 for The Best Offer . He was nominated eight times. For the same films he received the Ciak d'oro , for which he was nominated nine times. He won the Nastro d'Argento five times. First in 1984 with Fellini's Ship of Dreams , 1999 for Die Legende vom Ozeanpianisten , 2003 for Ma che colpa abbiamo noi and Ernst sein ist alles , 2005 for The Passion of Christ and most recently for The Best Offer and Reality .
