Franca Squarciapino

Franca Squarciapino (* in Rome ) is an Italian costume designer and Oscar winner.

Squarciapino studied law (according to other sources: literary studies ) as well as dance and drama in Rome. She worked as an actress for Italian television. In 1974 she met the set designer Ezio Frigerio , whose artistic and private partner she eventually became.

Squarciapino made his debut in 1974 at the Vienna Akademietheater with the costumes for Gerhard Klingenberg's production of Arthur Schnitzler's Anatol (set: Rouben Ter Arutunian ). In the same year she was involved in Strehler's production of Carlo Goldoni's trilogy of summer freshness at the Burgtheater (stage design: Frigerio), a French version that was also developed for Paris in 1978 .
